(posted on 2013-12-01 21:39:00 by tony) zafira 1.9cdti 120bhp,, when i first got the car in 2011 it was a pleasure to drive, very responsive and in sports mode it was a missile,, but over the months of local driving and short runs it started to feel less responsive and more sluggish as if something was pulling it back on acceleration. the fuel cosumption seemed to go through the roof as well. i took it to a local garage and was informed that my dpf was blocking and after a forced regen they managed to get it back to about 80% better, but over the months the car had returned back to it's sluggish state. i started looking on the internet for a solution to my problem and came across this company. at first i was very unsure with alot of "umming and aarring", should i or shouldn't i, it's alot of money and so on. i eventually bit the bullet as they say and booked the car in with eco tuning, i took it in on a thursday at 1pm for a diagnostic and was told the dpf was saturated causing back pressure into my engine thus acting as an exhaust brake ( lorry driving terms ) all the time. there and then i decided yes take out the dpf filter. on the same day i was having the filter taken out and getting the ecu memapped. the company even dropped me off at home whilst the car was with them. i collected my car the next day ( as i work nights and start work at 6pm ), the first thing i did was go for a test run to see if it was worth the money.. straight away there was an instant response on the throttle, it's even faster on acceleration then when i first got it , even better on fuel, and now a pleasure to drive. on travelling to work at 62mph on cruise control in 6th gear i am now averaging between 58 and 65 mpg compared to around 48 mpg before. i'm now happy i bit the bullet and had the dpf removed and now hope to keep the car for many years to come. (posted on 2013-06-07 13:42:00 by andy) bmw e90 330d 228bhp - just had dpf removal and remap as had the dpf diagnosed as faulty - i cant believe the difference and the simplicity of the process - i took my car in with the dash lit up like a christmas tree and no power and when i collected it for the pre purchase road test i was gob smaked - no fault light and it pulled like a train!! very happy and saved me about a thousand quid on having a new filter and its better on fuel!! thanks guys!
